March 2009You may need to click "load images"
or something similar to see the photos WelcomeThis has been a very busy month. Now that I have a first draft of my book, Gonna Lay Down my Sword and Shield, I have had a group of people reading the book with feedback and advice. I have been busy incorporting the advice into the manuscript. I have also had a book appraisal completed with advice about how to go about geting the book published. The book appraisal mentioned a book writing competition I will enter for new Zealand authors writing on mind/body/soul. The winner gets their book published and $10,000 dollars. My programme at the Milburn prison is over halfway through and I am gearing up to present my workshop on complexity at the Taupo School of Theosophy and two week speaking tour of the North Island next month. Best of the Net Blue Dragon
is an aid organisation working for Street Kids in Vietnam. I visited a
Blue Dragon house in Hanoi when I was there last year. They do great
work and like so many aid agencies are really struggling with the
economic downturn.Don't Corrupt Aid This is a website set up by aid agencies in response to the national government trying to tie aid to overseas trade rather than to the people needing aid. ![]() Neurophilosophy is a blog written by Mo Constandi, studying an MSc in neuroscience. He posts some interesting articles about new developments in how the brain works. |

It talks about a fourfold cycle in nature and in human systems. Starting from a reorganisation phase (following a crisis) it moves into exploitation which then reaches its limits so a conservation phase is needed to cope with restricted resources. This moves into a release phase where old structures that are no longer effecive fall away to bring the cycle back to reorganisation. |
